Synthetic environment training is when elements of military and civilian organisations are exercised in a virtual environment without having the full expense of deploying costly assets such as aerial fixed or rotary wing aircraft. This gives the advantage of exercising commanders in a vast number of canned scenarios whereby team leaders are put under pressure to make informed decisions and take decisive actions in a safe simulated environment.

JTAC Training - Joint Terminal Attack Controller
We have successfully had our deployable Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) simulator accredited to the following standards:
Using the deployable, highly portable Nautilus COBRA JTAC screen, VBS3 and VBS Fires FST software, Nautilus are providing a new, unrivalled capability in the UK. Using Form, Fit and Function emulated JTAC equipment, such as the LF28 LTD, PLRF25, IZLID Ultra and Harris Communications 7800HH radios with 7800Tdownlink receivers, the system can be fully set up and ready for use within 2 hours. All of the JTAC simulation scenarios and terrain are based on real world locations, both in the UK and overseas. This allows the qualified JTAC to train in a realistic and demanding, simulated environment.
We have been working tirelessly with our suppliers Cobra Simulation, Bohemia Interactive Simulations, SimCentric, Virtual Simulation Systems and Harris Communication Systems, to provide this very unique capability to JTACs in the UK. This will allow JTAC training to be conducted in almost any location and will enable re-qualification, maintain JTAC skill sets and ultimately, significantly reduce training overheads.
We are currently providing simulated JTAC training support to a large number of UK MoD JTACs and recently supported the UK JTAC Concentration at RAF Honington, which saw JTACs from the UK, US and Canada and have also provided JTAC simulation training to the Bahrain Royal Guard JTACs.
We provide medical simulation services in the form of a state of the art patient simulator called SimMan 3G Trauma, live actors, simulated bodies and body parts.
SimMan 3G Trauma can display the signs and symptoms of any trauma-related injury including most neurological and physiological signs. SimMan was designed to deliver the most advanced realistic medical training possible and is cutting edge technology. Used by the Military, NHS, Emergency services and other first responders, SimMan 3G brings unrivalled medical simulation to any kind of exercise requiring medical training, evaluation and re-validation. SimMan 3G was designed to work in harsh hostile environments and is the perfect choice for RTC, Mass Casualty, Blunt Trauma, Blast and CBRNE environments.
SimMan is available to rent in the UK or overseas and comes with a fully trained technician. SimMan is able to test all elements of the medical response teams from the point of injury (Patrol Medic/Paramedic) through to the method of casualty evacuation (Helicopter/Ambulance) on towards the field hospital or NHS Accident & Emergency department and into the operating theatre. SimMan can be used for very basic training, first person on scene, airway management through to CPR including training or testing fully qualified Paramedics in performing life saving roadside surgical procedures.
Live actors are used to provide casualty simulation whereby one or more of the casualties need to be present. Live actors, using special effects, can be made up to represent traumatic amputations, massive haemorrhaging or present other specific injuries. Simulation bodies or simulation parts are used to further enhance medical training by complementing the use of live actors and SimMan 3G. Mass casualty incidents, exercises or events, with fatalities, typically require simulation bodies and simulated body parts. Live actors can be replaced with Simbodies whereby prolonged periods of time are required for actors to lay on the ground until the event is brought under control.
Working with Nuclear Decommissioning suppliers who are delivering Nuclear sites into care and maintenance, we provide 3D CAD models of Nuclear facilities for use within simulated environments. This enables highly cost effective training and reduces the need for multiple exercise role play enabling a high degree of confidence in front of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
COP - Common Operating Picture Viewer
The COP Viewer is a secure web interface that displays either Google Earth mapping or satellite imagery and GSM or Iridium beacon tracks on one Common Operating Picture. The COP Viewer can additionally show, land based radar or Satellite AIS tracks, Flight Tracker for all live flight tracking and handheld smartphone GPRS enabled handsets. GEO fences can be set up to give early warning to the Track and Picture Manager of the movement of any asset within a certain perimeter and Points of Interest can be added to the COP viewer at any time. The viewer also has the capability of showing weather, RSS news feeds and Live Road Traffic information.
COP can be viewed anywhere on any host with internet connection without any need for downloading software. The Viewer is hosted on a secure server and all tracks are encrypted with a secure logon.
Additionally we supply bespoke hardware tracking solutions utilising GSM, Satellite and RF or a combination of all three to satisfy our clients. We can build these devices for personnel and asset tracking. In simulation we provide a cost saving solution with near real time tracking into a simulated environment of assets and personnel for use within Command and Control Exercises.
C4ISTAR Projects - Testing and Acceptance
Information systems must prove that they meet the client’s requirements. Integrated systems need to be thoroughly tested and trailed prior to any acceptance event. Early identifications of software and hardware malfunctions or design faults are critical in the development cycles as later discoveries will cause delays, additional expenditure and missed milestones.
We provide ISEB-qualified DV and SC subject matter experts to defence industry prime contractors. We fully understand the implications and importance of testing and all of the aspects of acceptance testing and proving. We have successfully supplied ISEB-qualified test and acceptance engineers into the UK defence industry for the last 5 years.

With our unique backgrounds, subject matter experts and in-house skill sets we are able to deliver a wide range of military and civilian training courses. Due to our geographical location we are able to bolster our training teams, with former specialist ex-military personnel, to deliver best of breed training on a significant number of basic and advanced training courses.
Training packages can range from running pilot courses through to completing a full training needs analysis, followed by the deliverable training courses. These courses can include train the trainer courses, which includes all of the course material, lesson plans and publications through to the selection of suitable candidates to attend the course.
